Iški vintgar is a scenic gorge of the Iška river. Locals love it because it’s the best natural spot for an epic refreshment during hot Summer days near by and also quite perfect location for a picnic with friends or family. It can be crowded during the Weekends but still truly awesome location for chilling.
The Podpeč Lake is a small, but in many ways special natural pearl on the edge of the Ljubljana Marshes. It is small, almost completely round but very deep (up to 51 meters), filled with water coming from seven karst springs located below the forest nearby. From the lake, the water flows underground through a deep sinkhole. It’s a truly popular spot for sunbathing and #afterwork chilling.
SWIMMING POOLS: The Kolezija city swimming pool stands on the site of an older swimming pool complex, built in the 19th century. Being Ljubljana’s oldest facility of its kind, it has a long and interesting history behind it and is a place where quite a few residents of Ljubljana learned how to swim.
The present Kolezija includes an Olympic and a children’s swimming pool, a paddling pool, a massage pool, and a poolside platform with a wooden grandstand for visitors to lie down. Other facilities include sports and recreation areas intended for playing table tennis, basketball, and beach volleyball.
The Laguna swimming pool complex, located at the Ljubljana Resort hotel and recreational complex, offers three modern heated outdoor swimming pools, over 60 different water attractions, several extensive paved and well maintained grassy areas with sunloungers, two islands, a beach-volleyball court, a children’s playground, two bars, and an ice cream garden.
The Laguna swimming pool complex, which has been selected ‘Slovenia’s Best Swimming Pool Complex’ for several years running, offers a vibrant programme of activities for adults and children, late night swimming, and poolside events featuring electronic dance music DJs.
